Happy Birthday to my sweet Hope who is turning 10 today! If I had enough time I would go find one of her adorable baby pictures and scan it into my blog BUT, I have to be ready to take her and her girlfriends out for lunch and pedicures in just a little while! But I had to post her big birthday on my blog of course!!!

I love this girl...she is game for anything! She is smart, loves to read, loves to play with her friends and is always wanting things to be fair! She is concerned about others feelings and is just a sweet girl...a little on the dramatic side when it comes to hair and clothes but I just figure this girl knows what she likes!!

I love, love, love you HOPE RYLEE CHRISTENSEN...thanks for joining our family!

Go on, let it out...

Sometimes we all just need a good cry...maybe one that will last a few minutes, maybe a couple of hours, or just maybe....A good cry that lasts the entire week. The last one...that would be me!
But it's Ok I tell myself...sometimes I've just got to get that inner baby using her lungs.

Next week will be better...right?!

Meet Britney

My kids thought it would be funny to make one of our Wii girls bald...then they named her Britney. I thought it was freakin hilarious...but I'm sure they are not the first to do so. But no matter, every time we play Wii and she pops up I get a good laugh from it! Oh how I love those girls!

I've got a bone to pick...

Can I just say a few words about something that has got my panties in a wad...I am so ANNOYED with Miley Cyrus...yes I said it...yes, I uttered those words! She has finally gotten on my last nerve so I must vent! Lately I've noticed that every time she sings live (which I'm pretty sure doesn't happen very often) she is TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRENDOUS! I could not believe that she sang TWICE on Idol Gives Back...I know they are reaching out to the younger crowd, but come on...give it a rest! I happened to see some of the Country Music Awards last night...just so happens I flipped the channel when she and Billy Ray were singing a duet. Now I am not a big fan of his, but I so preferred his voice to her shrieking. She was trying way too hard and I'm wondering when people are going to figure out that SHE CAN'T SING...sorry, the truth hurts.

Now I have my 2 little girls who still adore her which is fine....but I hate seeing her try to act like she's in her 20's instead of 15 or 16! We have been so over saturated with Miley/Hannah Montana and Disney is making millions off of her...enough is enough. I might vomit if I have to see her face one more time.

The latest...

Thanks for all the well wishes towards Hannah! She definitely has mono and we ended up going to the ER at 4am...she was so miserable and felt like her throat was closing up. Turned out she was dehydrated, in extreme pain and very sick. So after 4 hours, an IV drip, some Morphine and a Rx to take home, we are back. She, of course, is back in bed. Real big bummer for her. The doctors note for school has her excused until the end of June!! That' s the rest of the year...yikes! She is totally out of volleyball...they say that because your spleen enlarges when you have mono, you can't risk getting hit in the abdomen. She will have someone from the school come to the house every week to keep her up with the work she misses but I don't know how that works exactly. Pretty much...she is down for the count. I feel so bad for her, it's going to be a long road back.

Other than that we are fine...some other sniffles and runny noses but that I can handle. Hope everyone else is well....gonna go catch up on some of your blogs:)

Sick is so not fun!!

So my poor little Hannah has been so sick...we are pretty sure she has mono and are taking her in this morning for blood work. Then we will know for sure! But until then, there is nothing I can do...she has no energy, sleeps all the time and just feels plain lousy. Plus she is getting really bored of being in her bed all the time. I remember having this in HS...it did suck! So, any great ideas or remedies for her? Good DVD's I can rent for her...anything?

Give Back...

Did you all watch the "American Idol Gives Back" last night? Man I am such a sap and sucker for those kinds of shows. I DVR'd it and then watched it a couple of times. When I see people in need, especially those kids, my heart just breaks. I am then again reminded how lucky and blessed I am to live in this country and that I have a roof over my head, that I am able to feed my family, have health insurance for us and many, many more blessings. I am lucky to have gone through to college and am blessed to know my children can grow up and be anything they want to be! Life is good for us...and I am indeed thankful.

Plus seeing my boyfriend didn't hurt a bit....man do I love that Brad Pitt!

And do you ever watch Oprah's Big Give...that is another show that I never miss. I love the spirit of giving and cry each and every episode. It is incredibly inspiring and I want to be able to give back in any way I can. That show makes me want to be better...watch it if you haven't had the chance to. We can make a change...we can help those in need...try it, it feels so good!

Hurry up and get changed!

So I woke up this morning and got my girls out the door and then dashed quickly to the gas station to get my fix. As I am driving, I notice I have my shirt on backwards and the tag is sticking out. I am such a dork...the thing is the T shirt I have on has a big a** graphic on the backside. How did I not notice that when I put it on...duh? I have to leave soon for Primary Childrens Hospital for an interview to volunteer there, do you think they'd notice if I just left my shirt that way? Just trying to keep it real people...luckily I have to shower first and this time around I'll try putting my clothes on correctly :)

If you can't find me...look in my bed.

You see this woman waking up all pleasant and smiley? Well just for the record...this is not me!!! I do not get up in the morning all happy and cheerful, in fact I would be just as happy to stay in my bed for the whole entire day!! Especially lately when I wake up to snow in April. Now I know I sound whiny and a tad bit on the complaining side, but I'm just saying....I can't do it anymore. I know I should wake up like this lady (with my nightgown ironed and my hair just perfect) but I can't do it. Hannah and Hailey get up for school and they are out the door and I haven't even moved...nice mom I am! Then Hope and Hudsen get up and I do actually wake up with them. I do their hair and help get them out the door but after that...yes, you guessed it...I'm usually back in bed. I'm sorry...I admit I have a problem....I'm willing to get treatment...but I just usually want to crawl back in bed and hide from the world. So I'm begging you, won't you send some sunshine and motivation my way? I need it...bad!

Just a Thought...

As usual, listening to conference was uplifting and insightful...always good to re focus on my priorities in life and strive to be a better wife, mother, friend, in general...be a better person!

But as well as inspiring thoughts I thought I'd share a insightful thought that Hudsen brought to my attention. Hudsen heard a little bit on Thomas Monson's life as our TV was still on in between the conferences...she heard that he was 80 years old. Her response: "Oh great, he's old too...now he's going to die like Gordon B. Hinckley did!"

Now that my friends, just made my whole day...I love their honesty!
